It is fun to see the familiar characters fans know and love, but now they are in the iconic roles the show was setting them up for over the course of a decade, which is pretty cool. Overall, I think the likenesses of the actors and the voices of the characters are captured quite well. In fact, I really enjoyed reading it and look forward to the second volume. Well, now that I have read the first volume, which compiles the first four issues of the series, I can say that I am not disappointed. However, truth be told, I was a little let down by season 10, so I did not really know what to expect from the continuation of the show in comic book form. I am a fan of the show, so I had really been looking forward to reading this for some time. 1: Guardian" picks up six months after the events of the show's season 10 finale. Well, it took me a whole week to finish this stinking pile of crap, and only because there were moments I so wanted to not read it, that I was just lying in bed googling memes of funny Tinder conversations. Ya know what, nevermind, they actually want to be loved and accepted. Wait, let’s rape some underage girls first. Each one hates the world and everyone in it, wants to die, no, wait, wants to kill everyone, no… wants to die. In short: Kinyas and Kayra, the world’s dumbest and most arrogant criminals, travel around the world, especially Africa, kill, rape and steal, while contemplating death, murder and suicide. What really pisses me off is not that the book is absolutely horrible, but that it’s actually considered a modern-day classic in Turkey. In fact, I’d say that it’s worse than Justine, and I thought it would be hard to top that off. Kinyas and Kayra is the most God-awful, distasteful and tedious book I’ve read since Justine ou les Malheurs de la vertu. Lakesedge by Lyndall Clipstone A lush, gothic fantasy from debut author Lyndall Clipstone about monsters and magic, set on the banks of a cursed lake, perfect for fans of Naomi Novik and Brigid Kemmerer. Veronica Roth books: Her previous releases But we expect to see more of the Chosen Ones themselves, in both past and present day, as well as the new allies (and villains) they’ve met along the way, including Mox, of course. Not much is known about the Chosen Ones sequel plot as of right now, beyond the loose threads left dangling at the end of the first book. The two books in Veronica Roth’s previous duology, the Carve the Mark series, released a little over a year apart, so we should expect the Chosen Ones sequel release date to be sometime in mid-to-late 2021. However, we do know that a sequel is not only coming but should be releasing sooner rather than later. The currently untitled ‘Chosen Ones’ sequel release dateīecause Chosen Ones just came out recently, we don’t yet have a release date or even title for the Chosen Ones sequel. For a while I wanted to be a concert oboist. When I was a teenager, I played bells in the marching band and oboe in the concert band. For the plays, I would write myself parts like The Glorious Queen and my sister parts like The Quiet Servant Girl. I began writing stories, poems, and plays in grade school. I was already a fan of fairy tales and comedy, so it shouldn't surprise you to hear that my favorite movie when I was a child was Snow White and the Three Stooges. Sometimes we went to the movies at an old theater we called "The Sticky Theater" because there was always soda spilled on the floor. The rest of the time I rode my bike with my sister, Loni, or looked after my little brother and sister. Whenever possible as a child, I read books-books, books, and more books. I was born in Spokane, Washington, but I spent most of my childhood in Camarillo, California, which is about an hour's drive north of Los Angeles. They all have something to offer and there is a nice balance that plays out to the end of the story. Their “powerless” counterparts may seem a bit lost at first, but only because they are thrown into a world so unlike what they know. The Sky Ghosts are made up of wonderfully diverse people that never seem to lose their human frailty despite being able to fly, fight to death and heal themselves like total badasses. The powers either corrupt a person or they are unrealistically altruistic, and in almost all cases non powered characters either become bitter or sycophantic. There is always a chance with super powers to be cliche. Changing between the main characters was seamless and allowed the reader to take time to consider what was really going on in the story and just who the story was actually about. Who wants to read a novel that sounds like it should be four different stories? That was not an issue here. Some authors try to pass it around and too often that leads to continuity and flow issues with the story. For many readers the POV establishes who the main character is, tells us who we should be paying attention to. For starters, there is no set POV for this story. There is so much to like about this book. It didn’t give away the end, but it showed an acute sense of humor. I will admit it, I knew I would like this book after reading the dedication.
